Ukraine Seizes UAH 372 Million in Crypto from Transnational Hacker Group

For the first time in Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation has seized and transferred over UAH 372 million in crypto assets from a transnational hacker group to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency. The seized assets include more than 8.3 million USDT, with damages from the group's activities estimated to exceed USD 100 million. The investigation revealed that the hacker group conducted cyberattacks on citizens and companies in Europe and the USA, stealing confidential information and demanding ransoms. Four members of the group, including its organizer, have been detained and are in custody. The seized assets also include residential properties, cars, and USD 1 million in cash. The SBI plans to convert the crypto assets into fiat currency to purchase military bonds to support the economy during martial law.
