Burger King France, Wendy's UK allegedly hacked, data leaked

Burger King France and Wendy's UK were alleged to have been compromised by the threat actor "Eliasxy," who published datasets allegedly stolen from the fast food chains on the dark web over the weekend, reports Cybernews .

Eliasxy provided an 11-line data sample from Burger King France, which purportedly included details on franchise operations, opening hours, delivery partners, and job applications, as well as employee information and senior staff data. Another post included five lines of data from Wendy's that had similar information, in addition to a Sentry API key that could be leveraged for further data compromise. However, the data sample supposedly obtained from Wendy's had information from other restaurants.

Analysis of the samples revealed structural legitimacy but further verification is necessary as neither fast food chain has confirmed a breach, according to Cybernews researchers. Such a development comes amid increasingly prevalent security gaps in the fast food sector, with McDonald's recently reported to have insecure credentials for its third-party hiring platform.
