CVE Alert: CVE-2026-105002 – IBM

Redpacketsecurity •admin • November 7, 2026

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow arbitrary code to be executed by the management service in certain non-default configurations due to improper control of generation of code. Customization content may be evaluated as code, which is only possible where the related feature is enabled and not properly restricted.

**Risk verdict:** High-impact but conditional risk: expedite remediation where the management service is exposed and the affected customisation feature is enabled; KEV, SSVC, PoC and EPSS status were not provided, so exploitation urgency cannot be confirmed.

**Why this matters:** Successful code execution could compromise the management service, exposing sensitive configuration and enabling changes that disrupt or manipulate API operations. The required non-default configuration narrows exposure, but the impact could be significant in environments where the service governs business-critical APIs.

**Most likely attack path:** A network-reachable attacker with low-level access could target the service without user interaction, but the high attack complexity and feature/configuration requirements create meaningful barriers. Scope is unchanged, so broader lateral movement is not established by the available metrics; assess whether the management plane has privileged access to connected systems.

**Who is most exposed:** Organisations running API management platforms with customisation or code-generation features enabled and accessible beyond a tightly controlled administration network are most exposed. Shared or externally reachable management environments warrant particular scrutiny.

Review management-service logs for unexpected customisation changes or code evaluation.

Alert on unusual low-privilege access followed by administrative actions.

Check process creation, outbound connections and file changes on management nodes.

Audit feature enablement and customisation permissions against approved baselines.

Mitigation and prioritisation

Upgrade to the vendor’s fixed release for the installed branch; verify remediation in change records.

Disable the affected feature where not required, and restrict management access to trusted networks.

Review customisation content and credentials for signs of tampering or misuse.

Validate service health and API behaviour after changes; confirm KEV and EPSS status to refine urgency.
