Dark Web Intelligence @DailyDarkWeb 🇺🇸🚨 DOJ SEIZES OXYGEN FORENSICS INFRASTRUCTURE — CEO + RUSSIAN NATIONAL ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED HIDDEN RUSSIAN CONTROL OF U.S. GOVERNMENT FORENSICS VENDOR The U.S. Justice Department has arrested Oxygen Forensics CEO Lee Reiber and Russian national Oleg Davydov, alleging the Virginia-based digital-forensics company concealed Russian ownership and Russian software development while obtaining U.S. government contracts. • DOJ alleges five Russian nationals owned and controlled Oxygen Forensics through a Cyprus holding company • Prosecutors say the software continued to be written and managed by developers in Russia while the company represented itself as independent and U.S.-based • Affected government customers identified in the complaint include the U.S. Secret Service / National Computer Forensics Institute, Homeland Security Investigations, DHS OIG and the Department of War • DOJ says the same Russian owners controlled MKO Systems, whose forensic software was reportedly sold to customers including Russia’s FSB, Investigative Committee and Ministry of Internal Affairs • Federal authorities seized corporate bank accounts, approximately 57 domains and other cyberinfrastructure on September 20 • Reiber and Davydov are charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud; Davydov was arrested at London Heathrow and the U.S. expects to seek extradition • DOJ explicitly says the complaint does NOT allege the software contained malicious code or was used to gain unauthorized access to customer systems or data ⚠️ Important: These are allegations in a federal criminal complaint. zip @zippgod24 2h I think we all knew they were Russian but the interesting thing is oxygen modules from other providers I wonder if oxygen shared code with them and further more those companies were working with oxygen as well so why aren’t they in trouble
