🇺🇸 🚨 GENESYS CONFIRMS BREACH OF INTERNAL CRM AND LEARNING SYSTEMS AFTER EXTORTION CLAIM

Genesys, the US customer-experience and -center software company, has confirmed that an unauthorized third party accessed internal business systems, including its customer relationship management (CRM) platform and its learning management system (LMS).

* It became aware of the incident on October 16, 2026, and says the activity has been contained

* Information in the CRM and LMS was accessed and/or downloaded without authorization

* That data includes names, business email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, and company and account details of existing and prospective customers

* Genesys Cloud, Genesys Engage and Engage Cloud, and customer and partner data on those platforms (including call recordings and analytics) were not compromised

The confirmation follows an extortion claim by a data-extortion group, which has now also listed Genesys on its leak site after its negotiation deadline. The group's own claims stolen contracts, password hashes and SSO configuration have not been independently verified.

Genesys serves thousands of enterprises, including banks, telecoms and public-sector bodies. Stolen CRM data is ideal fuel for targeted phishing and invoice fraud that impersonates Genesys or its account teams. Customers should treat unexpected Genesys-branded requests for credentials, payment changes or "urgent" platform updates with suspicion and verify them through known channels.
