Ericsson Data Breach Compromises SSNs; Lawyers Investigating

Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Ericsson data breach.

As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident , including those who received notice of the Ericsson data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.

Ericsson Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the multinational telecommunications company Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson, based in Sweden, has announced a data breach involving one of its service providers. The data breach did not occur within Ericsson's own systems.

A sample notice provided to the California Attorney General’s Office (pictured below) states that on April 28, 2025, Ericsson was informed by its service provider of potential unauthorized access to data, found to have occurred between April 17 and April 22, 2025. The service provider engaged external cybersecurity specialists and notified the FBI to investigate and reinforce security measures. The investigation, aided by data specialists, concluded on February 23, 2026, revealing that certain personal information was compromised.

According to a report submitted to the Texas Attorney General’s Office on March 9, 2026, the information potentially compromised in the Ericsson data breach included individuals' names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government-issued ID numbers, financial details, medical information, and dates of birth. Ericsson is notifying affected parties by mail.
