Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Ernst & Young data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident , including those who received notice of the Ernst & Young data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Ernst & Young (EY), a “Big Four” accounting firm based in London with a large United States presence, has disclosed a data breach potentially impacting personal and financial information.
According to a sample notice submitted to the California Attorney General’s Office , which can be seen below, EY detected anomalous activity on the third-party information technology platform it uses to support tax-related work for clients on April 23, 2026.
After an investigation with an independent security firm, EY determined that between March 28, 2026 and April 12, 2026, an unauthorized party accessed this third-party platform and downloaded documents a number of EY clients.
A report filed with the Vermont Attorney General’s Office on July 16, 2026 relays that the EY data breach may have impacted Social Security numbers, financial account codes and credit and debit account information.
At the time this post was made, the total number of individuals affected by the Ernst & Young data breach had not been publicly disclosed.
