Back Firstpost Google launches Fairwind with Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber and CodeMender for Cyber defense
Google’s Fairwind programme gives trusted governments and partners Gemini-powered tools to autonomously detect and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities at scale, helping protect critical infrastructure and essential services.
Google today launched its all-new Fairwind programme to bring the best of Google’s AI and cybersecurity capabilities to a trusted group of Google Cloud customers, government agencies and cybersecurity partners, helping them proactively address cyber risks at scale. The programme will provide defenders with access to powerful and advanced Gemini models to help them autonomously find and fix vulnerabilities, protecting critical infrastructure, public services and national security.
Finding and fixing vulnerabilities
The Fairwind programme brings together Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, one of Google’s most advanced models, with a CodeMender harness to help defenders find, verify and fix vulnerabilities at agentic scale. By spotting weaknesses, creating fixes and autonomously finding and fixing vulnerabilities, the system aims to strengthen security.
CodeMender and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber deliver specialized reasoning to write and validate code fixes at a fraction of the operating cost of traditional frontier models. Instead of taking weeks to manually fix vulnerabilities, defenders can now generate verified, deployment-ready patches in minutes within an organization’s secure cloud environment.
Initial access to the new offering has been given to government and enterprise partners considered most critical to society’s resilience. The model is currently available to government and national cyber authorities, as well as critical infrastructure operators protecting essential services across healthcare, telecommunications, energy and financial networks from operational disruption.
Core technology platforms
The programme is also aimed at securing widespread software foundations, helping improve digital security for millions of downstream users at once. Google adds that the Fairwind programme will evolve alongside its partners, adapt its product offerings and expand partner access, while collaborating closely with industry, governments and open-weight community leaders.
Google says it has been able to shrink the time between detecting a flaw and patching it. Through the Fairwind programme, government and enterprise partners gain access to autonomous tools that can repair systems faster and at scale, helping them stay one step ahead of threats moving at agentic speed.
The programme currently has limited access and is available to governments and trusted partners seeking advanced cybersecurity capabilities.
