Iran is reportedly preparing to formalise a multi-million-dollar bounty targeting US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, escalating tensions amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations and indirect peace talks with Washington.

Iran is reportedly planning to place a $58 million bounty on anyone who kills US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to reports by IranWire and The Telegraph UK, Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, announced that a proposed bill titled “Counter-Action by the Military and Security Forces of the Islamic Republic” seeks to formalise a reward of 50 million euros (around $58.23 million) for anyone involved in assassinating Trump and Netanyahu.

The Iranian Parliament is reportedly scheduled to vote on the bill, which is being presented as a response to alleged threats against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. According to IranWire, Azizi also named US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Admiral Brad Cooper among those Iran accuses of playing a role in threats against Khamenei.

The report surfaced days after pro-regime media outlet Masaf claimed that Iran’s establishment had secured $50 million in financial backing to target the US president.

A similar statement was also issued by Iran-linked cyberwarfare group “Handala,” which claimed it had allocated $50 million for the “elimination of the primary architects of oppression and corruption.” The announcement came after the US Department of Justice offered a $10 million reward for information related to the group’s members. Handala claimed the reward money would be given to any individual or group responsible for assassinating the two leaders.

Tehran’s proposed bounty legislation marks a significant escalation from earlier threats, including assassination calls made through religious fatwas and propaganda campaigns. The move could further strain the fragile ceasefire between the US, Israel, and Iran.

Last year, Trump warned that if Iran attempted to assassinate him, the United States would issue “very strict orders” to “wipe them off the face of the Earth.”

A US official told Axios regarding the latest proposal: “We are really not making a lot of progress. We are at a very serious place today. The pressure is on them to respond in the right way.”

Calls for retaliation against Trump have repeatedly surfaced in Iran since the killing of Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani.

Several pro-regime groups have reportedly raised millions of dollars through bounty campaigns targeting the former US president. One such campaign, called “Blood Covenant,” reportedly collected more than $27 million.

Despite the rising tensions, Iranian officials have said that indirect negotiations with Washington are continuing. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that peace talks mediated through Pakistan are progressing, with several rounds of proposals already exchanged between the two sides.

According to reports, the US is demanding that Iran hand over its enriched uranium stockpiles, limit its nuclear infrastructure, and maintain the ceasefire while negotiations continue.

Iran, meanwhile, is demanding the lifting of sanctions, the release of frozen assets, an end to military activity in the region, and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

The Telegraph UK also reported that speculation over renewed hostilities intensified after Netanyahu was permitted to skip his criminal trial to attend “all-day security meetings.”
