Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM; lit. “Support Group for Islam and Muslims”) is an Islamist militant group operating in West Africa. A regional affiliate of Al-Qaeda , it is generally regarded as one of the fastest-growing and most powerful insurgent groups in the world, and is fighting an ongoing war against the military governments of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso.
