Keeta Network CEO Demands Funds Be Returned Within 72 Hours Following Security Incident

Kucoin • August 23, 2026

ME News reports that on August 23 (UTC+8), Ty, CEO of the payment blockchain Keeta Network, issued a statement regarding recent attacks against Keeta, stating that the investigation has made substantial progress and that evidence capable of identifying the attackers has been collected. This includes information on IP addresses, VPNs, VPSs, and other infrastructure used in the attack; user agents and technical environments used to initiate unauthorized requests; associated email addresses; and the software and infrastructure service providers involved. All relevant evidence has been preserved and submitted to the appropriate authorities. The statement demands that the attackers return all funds obtained in the attack within 72 hours, accepting repayment in KTA, ETH, or USDC. If the full amount is returned, Keeta expressed willingness to offer a reward for the vulnerability discovery and resolve the matter without pursuing legal liability. The statement also confirms that if the funds are not returned within 72 hours, Keeta reserves all rights to pursue legal action and asset recovery. Previously, on August 20, Ty stated that the root cause of the security incident had been identified, with the issue limited to affected components and not involving the pegging system or external connectivity systems; KTA on the Base network remains unaffected. The mainnet will remain in read-only mode until patch testing is complete, after which operations will resume, while a full compensation plan for affected users is currently under evaluation.
