A statement on RBKC’s website says the incident was identified on Monday 24 November and the two authorities have been working together and with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to protect data and restore systems.

“We are diverting more resources to manage this incident and monitor emails and phone lines, and the councils have invoked business continuity and emergency plans to ensure we are still delivering critical services to residents, focusing on supporting the most vulnerable,” the council said.

It added that the councils were investigating to see if any data has been compromised and had informed the Information Commissioner’s Office.
