macOS 27 Golden Gate, macOS Tahoe 26.7, and macOS Sequoia 15.8 fix 200+ vulnerabilities

If you’re on the fence installing macOS 27 Golden Gate , Apple’s lengthy list of security fixes might be enough to convince you. And if you’re sticking with an older version, you may want to install macOS Tahoe 26.7 or macOS Sequoia 15.8 sooner rather than later. Here’s why.

Apple fixes 200+ macOS vulnerabilities

Apple today published the full security changelogs for macOS 27 Golden Gate, macOS Tahoe 26.7, and macOS Sequoia 15.8, detailing more than 200 vulnerabilities addressed in the updates.

As has been the case with several recent macOS updates, Apple’s acknowledgments include multiple AI-focused security teams and researchers, including OpenAI Codex Security, NVIDIA AI Red Team, and Anthropic Research.

Fixes included in macOS 27 address vulnerabilities that could allow malicious apps or attackers to execute arbitrary code with kernel or root privileges, escape the macOS sandbox, bypass Gatekeeper protections, modify protected system files, access sensitive user data, and more.

One AVEVideoEncoder flaw, for instance, could allow a sandboxed app to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Meanwhile, a UDF file system vulnerability could similarly allow an app to execute code at the kernel level. Apple also fixed vulnerabilities that could lead to remote code execution through Bluetooth, CUPS, and WebDAV.

As for macOS Tahoe 26.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.8, the updates patch many of the same vulnerabilities, including several kernel-level, root-privilege, sandbox-escape, Gatekeeper-bypass, and remote-code-execution flaws listed above.

The older systems also feature some additional fixes not listed for macOS 27, including an ImageIO vulnerability in macOS Sequoia 15.8 that could allow arbitrary code execution when processing a maliciously crafted image.
