Marks and Spencer reveals cyber attack cost - Investors' Chronicle

The National Cyber Security Centre, which is part of GCHQ, recently revealed that it has handled an average of four “nationally significant” cyber attacks every week in the year to September. Consequently, the government has been in with business leaders to co-ordinate actions to counter cyber threats.

Obviously, there’s a material dimension to the problem, one that is glaringly obvious in the interim report for one of the country’s most high-profile retailers. Anyone who visited Marks and Spencer (MKS) in the aftermath of April’s cyber attack will be aware of just how disruptive it was on the shop floor.
