Massive DDoS Attacks Disrupt 'Arc Raiders' and 'The Finals' Amid Anticipated 'Headwinds' Update

Embark Studios confirmed that its hit games, "Arc Raiders" and "The Finals," are under "extensive, coordinated" Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, causing widespread server issues.

To make it worse, the attack happened just a day after the "Headwinds" update.

As IGN reported, players report being unable to reconnect, leaving matches, or losing in-game loot due to disruptions. One player said, "Was just rubber banding and died because it was in front of a shredder, now stuck on the loading screen while trying to join a new lobby."

The attacks strike at a sensitive moment for "Arc Raiders," coinciding with the "Headwinds" update, which introduced solo vs. squads matchmaking, the Bird City map condition, and other gameplay changes.

In another report from Eurogamer , Ossen, community manager of the official Arc Raiders Discord server, said that the team saw signs of hope. The servers are now recovering, but there's still no exact time or date when the issue will be resolved.

" Arc Raiders " has rapidly become one of the most popular extraction shooters, selling 12.4 million copies in just 10 weeks.

The game reached a new concurrent player peak of 960,000 in January 2026. Its rapid growth outpaced " Helldivers 2 ," which sold 12 million copies in 12 weeks. The game even featured a surprise "South Park" crossover, reflecting its cultural reach.

With so many things happening the game, there's no doubt that it is really the Best Multiplayer Game of the Year during the Game Awards 2025.
