Kathmandu, September 21: Trading on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will remain closed on Monday following a hacker attack on its data hub.

According to NEPSE CEO Chunamani Chapagain, a cyberattack that has been detected at the data hub since Sunday has made it impossible to operate the TMS of 72 brokers. The systems of 12 brokers, which have their own TMS, can still be operated.

NEPSE said trading has been halted today due to unavoidable circumstances after the TMS of most brokers was affected. It is reported that the data hub also contains records of 17–18 government agencies, including NEPSE.
