Novo Nordisk has identified an IT security incident involving unauthorized access to a limited number of internal systems. According to the company, its core business operations have not been affected and continue to run as normal.
This is stated in a stock exchange announcement.
“Upon learning of the incident, we launched an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts, and we are in with the relevant authorities,” Novo writes.
The company has implemented a number of security measures, including the temporary shutdown of internal IT systems to protect its IT environment.
“e are working to bring the affected systems back online in a controlled and safe manner; however, we acknowledge this process takes time. Our core business operations are not impacted and remain up and running,” Novo writes.
In connection with the investigation and handling of the situation, Novo has also determined that certain non-public data, including personal data, has been copied externally and without authorization.
Novo is notifying the affected parties.
Novo shares closed with a gain of 2.7% on the New York Stock Exchange. The stock was up just over 2% prior to the announcement regarding the unauthorized IT intruders.
In Denmark, the stock fell 0.2% on Thursday to DKK 282.55.
