Back Verticalmag Quantum Systems completes two-week multi-domain exercise 'Forward Edge 26'
Quantum Systems has concluded its Multi-Domain Exercise “Forward Edge 2026” at a military training field in central Germany, demonstrating the coordinated multi-domain operations of unmanned systems across air, land, and sea.
Together with selected technology partners, the company brought aerial reconnaissance, ground robotics, maritime systems and counter-drone capabilities into four operational scenarios, connected through its MOSAIC UXS software suite.
The exercise culminated in the demonstration of four scenarios:
Scenario One focused on Unmanned Defence Operations , providing surveillance of a defensive position, which discovered simulated enemy reconnaissance and attack forces. Counter-UAS systems, strike assets, and unmanned ground systems engaged and defeated the threat.
Scenario Two , Convoy and Force Protection, conducted wide-area reconnaissance and monitored a route ahead of an unmanned convoy. Laser-based Counter-UAS assets protected the convoy against ground threats.
The exercise extended beyond land and air operations. Scenario Three, Sea and Port Protection, connected aerial and maritime systems for coastal surveillance, threat identification and coordinated response.
In Scenario Four, Minelaying and Route Clearance, aerial overwatch, ground systems, and effectors worked together to demonstrate real-life examples from Quantum Systems’ operations in Ukraine.
The exercise also demonstrated remote piloting across continents when systems in Ukraine, the USA, and Australia were piloted remotely.
The exercise focused on orchestrating a multitude of unmanned systems by Quantum Systems and partner companies, through the MOSAIC UXS software suite and successfully demonstrated the viability of unmanned multi-domain operations.
Sven Kruck, co-CEO of Quantum Systems, said: “Today Quantum Systems and its partners demonstrated the future of warfare: Silent, precise, lethal and orchestrated through software and AI. “Forward Edge 26″ was a glimpse into the future. And the future is unmanned.”
For armed forces and defence and security customers, the exercise showed how reconnaissance, protection and mission execution can work together rather than remain in separate capabilities.
Martin Karkour, CRO of Quantum Systems, said: “Traditional military exercises often focus on traditional military hardware. At Forward Edge 26, we demonstrated a different approach: An entirely unmanned exercise, software orchestrated through MOSAIC UXS. Unmanned multi-domain operations are real and they are possible today.”
Technology and industry partners included Daimler Truck, Frontline Robotics, Ground A, Planet, Wolf Radar, Reactive Dynamics, Tencore, Volkswagen, XTEND, and Quantum Systems’ German-Ukrainian joint ventures, Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI) and Quantum Tencore Industries (QTI). Their participation demonstrated how systems from different manufacturers can be connected within one operational architecture in MOSAIC UXS.
With the completion of the exercise, Quantum Systems has demonstrated the step in its development: bringing together hardware, software, AI and partner technologies to deliver coordinated multi-domain operations. The results will inform further system development, integration and operational validation.
