Vertu secures £3.4m payout after JLR cyber disruption - AM

Am-Online April 30, 2026

Vertu Motors is set for a late boost to its full-year results after securing a £3.4 million net insurance payout linked to the cyber attack that disrupted Jaguar Land Rover’s operations last year .

The AM100 dealership group confirmed it has settled a business interruption claim worth £3.9m following the September 2025 incident, with a £0.5m policy deductible applied.

The attack caused widespread disruption across Jaguar Land Rover’s systems, temporarily affecting vehicle supply, parts availability and connected retail platforms used by franchised partners including Vertu Motors.

Vertu had already received a £1.0m interim payment, disclosed in its March 5 trading update , with the remaining £2.4m now confirmed as part of the final settlement.

The full £3.4m recovery will be recognised as underlying income in the group’s results for the year ended February 28, 2026.

As a result, Vertu now expects adjusted profit before tax to exceed current market expectations of £21.6m, which previously sat within a £21.0m to £22.0m range.

The group which operates 191 dealerships will publish its preliminary results on May 13, 2026.
