Back Classaction Via Credit Union Data Breach? Attorneys Investigate Hackers' Claims
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of reports of a possible Via Credit Union data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who believe their information may have been put at risk , including current and former Via Credit Union employees and members.
Reports Emerge of Possible Via Credit Union Security Breach
Via Credit Union, which serves 12 counties in Indiana, may have suffered a data breach.
According to an October 16, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live , hacker group Qilin was behind the suspected attack, which was estimated to have occurred the same day.
HookPhish , another cybersecurity blog, similarly stated that Qilin claimed to be responsible for an attack on the Indiana banking organization.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Via Credit Union data breach.
Previously, Via Credit Union suffered a data breach in January 2025 that affected over 60,000 individuals.
If you're affiliated with Via Credit Union and suspect your information could have been put at risk, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, lost time, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Via Credit Union to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
