What Barracuda's UK Cyber Essentials certification means

Blog.Barracuda • October 14, 2026

The certification validates that Barracuda has implemented essential security controls designed to protect against common cyber threats.

The certification supports procurement and due diligence requirements, particularly for UK public sector organizations and regulated industries.

Customers and partners trust Barracuda to help protect their businesses. That trust depends not only on the security solutions we deliver, but also on the way we run and protect our own environment.

I’m pleased to that Barracuda has achieved UK Cyber Essentials certification. Issued by IASME on October 5, 2026, the certification confirms that Barracuda has foundational controls in place to help defend against common internet-based threats.

It is a practical milestone that supports customer due diligence and reflects the ongoing work we do to protect data, manage risk, and build resilience.

What is UK Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed certification scheme from the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It is designed to help organizations protect themselves against common cyber threats by putting core security controls in place.

For UK organizations, the certification has become a useful signal during supplier reviews. It is required for many UK government contracts and is increasingly expected by regulated and security-conscious businesses.

Why this matters for customers and partners

When customers evaluate a technology provider, they need more than broad statements security. Independent certifications give them a clearer way to understand how an organization approaches risk.

For Barracuda, UK Cyber Essentials is one more way to show that security is built into how we operate. It reinforces our commitment to protecting customer data, maintaining strong controls, and continuing to strengthen resilience across the business.

Part of a broader commitment to security

UK Cyber Essentials sits alongside the broader security and compliance work we do across Barracuda. We continue to invest in the controls, governance, and risk management practices needed to protect customer information and keep pace with evolving threats.

Customers and partners can find this certification, along with other security certifications and attestations, in the Barracuda Trust Center .

We know trust is earned over time. Achieving UK Cyber Essentials certification is another step in showing customers and partners that Barracuda takes that responsibility seriously.
