Australia and US Sanction North Korean Cyber Operations Linked to Cryptocurrency Theft

Australia has imposed financial sanctions and travel bans on four entities and one individual connected to North Korea's cryptocurrency theft operations, as announced by Foreign Minister Penny Wong. The sanctions target the Lazarus Group hackers, known for significant cyberattacks including the 2014 Sony Pictures breach and the 2017 WannaCry ransomware incident, along with a programmer associated with the group.
