Freedom of Information data reveals that Australia's mining and manufacturing sectors have taken up to two years to detect and report cyber breaches. Since 2018, 187 breaches have exposed personal information of approximately 3.6 million individuals. The federal government is reviewing data-breach reporting rules as part of its 2023–2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy.
