California has introduced a free tool called the Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP) to help consumers opt out of data collection by over 500 data brokers. This initiative is part of the state's efforts to enhance digital privacy and enforce compliance with the California Delete Act, which requires data brokers to register annually with the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA).
