China's National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center (CVERC) has accused the United States of orchestrating a cyberattack on the LuBian bitcoin mining pool in late 2020, resulting in the theft of 127,272 bitcoins, valued at approximately $14 billion. The allegations suggest that the U.S. Department of Justice used state-level hacking tools to carry out the operation, which has intensified ongoing cyber tensions between the two nations.
