Coupang Corp. has formed an information security advisory committee in response to a significant data breach affecting over 33 million users. This breach, disclosed in November 2025, led to a record fine of 624.7 billion won (approximately $460 million) imposed by the South Korean government in June 2026. The newly established committee consists of seven external experts in information security, law, and IT, including Coupang's Chief Information Security Officer, Brett Matthes.
