Discovered by Vitaly Simonovich, the vulnerability arises from improper input initialization when WRDE_REUSE is used, potentially allowing attackers to crash applications and cause denial of service. Another vulnerability, identified by Anastasia Belova, relates to memory allocation failures in the regcomp function, also leading to possible denial of service or execution of arbitrary code.
