The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) launched a Cybersecurity Quiz Competition for senior high schools in the Central Region of Ghana to raise awareness about cyber threats. The event, held on March 14, 2026, revealed that the Central Region is a hotspot for cybercrime, with increasing incidents of mobile money fraud, sextortion, and child grooming. In 2025, the CSA received 23,363 public inquiries, with 4,604 confirmed cyber incidents. The competition aimed to educate students on online safety and cybersecurity skills, fostering a new generation of defenders against cyber threats. Adisadel College and Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School emerged as winners in their respective categories. The CSA plans to establish a regional office in Cape Coast to enhance monitoring and enforcement against cybercrime. The event emphasized the importance of vigilance and responsible online behavior among students and the public.
