Google has filed a lawsuit against a group of Chinese cybercriminals operating the 'Lighthouse' phishing-as-a-service platform, which has reportedly scammed over $1 billion from millions of victims worldwide. The platform facilitated SMS phishing attacks impersonating trusted brands like USPS and E-ZPass, affecting more than 1 million individuals across 120 countries. The lawsuit aims to dismantle the infrastructure supporting these scams and hold the perpetrators accountable.
