Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, stated that the release of Anthropic's Mythos AI system has increased cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the financial sector by tenfold. During an interview at the JPMorgan Tech Summit, he emphasized that AI has exposed previously unknown vulnerabilities, making cyber threats the bank's biggest concern. Despite this alarming assessment, US cyber insurance rates have continued to decline, falling 2% in Q2 2026. Dimon noted that while AI has the potential for positive applications, it also provides malicious actors with unprecedented leverage. He mentioned the formation of the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure, a coalition aimed at strengthening defenses against systemic threats. Dimon refrained from labeling AI as an existential threat but acknowledged the need for proactive measures to address these vulnerabilities.
