Microsoft has postponed the implementation of usage-based billing for new Microsoft 365 Copilot Business subscriptions from November 2 to December 1, 2026. This delay allows solution providers to prepare with new sandbox environments launching on November 2. The Copilot Business licenses will feature an adjustable default spending limit of 4,000 Copilot Credits per user per month, and an automatic Azure subscription setup for new purchases. The rollout will initially exclude markets such as Australia, Belgium, and Germany. Microsoft is also refining its 'Copilot in 30' trial offer for new customers. Partners will have the ability to manage spending limits and billing methods, with consumption charges reflected in CSP invoices. API changes are not necessary for purchases, but new catalog APIs will assist in identifying usage-based billing products.
