More Markets Exploit: $9.3M WFLOW Drained from Flow EVM Protocol
Article Content
On August 31, 2026, More Markets, a DeFi lending protocol on Flow EVM, was exploited, resulting in the theft of approximately 15.5 million WFLOW tokens, valued at around $9.3 million. The attack exploited vulnerabilities in the handling of Ankr bonded liquid staking tokens (LSTs) and the E-Mode borrowing calculations, allowing the attacker to manipulate collateral and withdraw funds repeatedly. Although the security firm Blockaid reported the incident, More Markets has not confirmed the loss amount and is currently investigating the claim. Following the exploit, the market prices of WFLOW and FLOW dropped by about 9% and 8.7%, respectively. The stolen assets were quickly moved to external wallets, complicating recovery efforts. As of now, no recovery plan has been announced, and the investigation is ongoing.
Key Points: • 15.5 million WFLOW tokens worth $9.3 million were drained from More Markets. • The exploit involved manipulating Ankr bonded LSTs and E-Mode borrowing calculations. • Market reaction led to a significant drop in WFLOW and FLOW token prices.
