On August 3, 2026, Bangladesh's ICT Division launched the National ICT & Cyber Security Rating System (NRS) and the Cyber Incident Reporting System (CIRS). These initiatives aim to enhance the cybersecurity infrastructure for both government and private organizations. The NRS will assess cybersecurity capabilities using a four-pillar framework, while the CIRS will facilitate easier reporting of cyber incidents. The launch event was attended by key officials, including the minister for posts, telecommunications, and information technology. The NRS will provide a standardized score for institutions based on their cybersecurity maturity, addressing the current lack of unified assessment in the country. The new systems are part of a broader National Cyber Security Strategy for 2026-2030, which aims to improve the nation's resilience against cyber threats.
