The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) has launched a Threat Report Portal aimed at combating cybercrime by allowing companies to anonymously report cybersecurity breaches or near-misses. The portal, which became fully operational in October 2026, encourages sharing of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) and Indicators of Compromise (IOC) to enhance community defense against future attacks. Ben Wilkens, NMFTA's cybersecurity director, emphasized the importance of anonymity to encourage participation from organizations concerned about reputational damage. Reports submitted to the portal undergo a vetting process to ensure legitimacy before being shared with the community. The initiative follows discussions from the previous year's conference, highlighting a growing need for collaboration in cybersecurity efforts within the freight industry.
