In a coordinated effort led by Turkey's Presidency of Communications, access to 6,644 social media accounts has been blocked due to connections with terrorist propaganda and disinformation activities. Of these, 3,679 accounts were linked to FETÖ, while 2,965 accounts were identified for spreading disinformation and conducting psychological operations against Turkey. The majority of the blocked accounts were on platform X, followed by Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify. Authorities are employing advanced digital analysis methods to monitor real-time trends, bot activities, and coordinated sharing networks. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to combat digital terrorism and misinformation, which are seen as threats to national security. The ongoing efforts aim to prevent the spread of harmful content and maintain public order during crises.
