The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) has issued a warning regarding a phishing campaign aimed at Apple iPhone users whose devices have been lost or stolen. Cybercriminals impersonate Apple Support, sending fraudulent SMS messages that resemble legitimate notifications to exploit victims' urgency. These messages contain phishing links that redirect users to counterfeit Apple login pages designed to steal Apple ID credentials and One-Time Passwords (OTP). Once compromised, attackers can gain unauthorized access to victims' accounts, remove the linked Apple ID from stolen devices, and disable security features. The advisory emphasizes the importance of verifying links and using official Apple services for device recovery. Users are urged to avoid clicking on unsolicited messages and to report suspicious communications.
