Vietnam faces a significant increase in online fraud and personal data theft, with 552,000 cyber attacks reported in 2025. The estimated economic damage from data exploitation reached over 6,000 billion VND. Cybersecurity experts note a shift from system intrusions to targeted attacks, including ransomware and data theft. The rise of artificial intelligence has accelerated the execution of these attacks, allowing even non-experts to create phishing tools. Users are often unaware of the risks associated with their online behaviors, such as using the same passwords across multiple platforms. To combat these threats, technology companies are developing layered security solutions, including VNPT Cyber Immunity's Family Safe service and VNPT S-Defender application. These tools aim to enhance user protection against online fraud and data exploitation. The seminar organized by Lao Dong Newspaper highlighted the urgent need for improved data protection measures in Vietnam's digital landscape.
