Sri Lanka Expands Cybersecurity Integration with National Operations Center

Sri Lanka's Ministry of Digital Economy announced an acceleration of cybersecurity measures across 25 key state institutions, integrating them with the National Cyber Security Operations Center (NCSOC). This initiative follows the registration of 10 state institutions, with four more currently in the process of joining. The NCSOC was inaugurated under President Anura Kumara Dissanayake as part of a broader National Cyber Security Strategy aimed at creating a secure digital ecosystem. Although Cabinet approval was granted to connect 37 institutions, only 12 have been linked to the NCSOC thus far. The initiative is supported by the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) and the World Bank, indicating a significant push towards enhancing national cybersecurity infrastructure.
