Via.Ritzau.Dk Thales Unveils Sentinel Envelope Plus to Combat AI-Driven Software Vulnerabilities
Article Content
- •Sentinel Envelope Plus protects against AI-assisted reverse engineering without source code changes.
- •In tests, the tool prevented an AI agent from identifying vulnerabilities in protected applications.
- •The solution is crucial for safeguarding on-premises and edge devices from offline analysis by attackers.
Thales has launched Sentinel Envelope Plus, a software protection solution designed to safeguard compiled applications against AI-assisted reverse engineering and automated vulnerability discovery. The tool does not require source code changes, making it easier for software vendors to implement. In a controlled test, an AI agent identified 8 out of 10 vulnerabilities in an unprotected application, but found none in the same application after protection with Sentinel Envelope Plus. This solution is particularly relevant for on-premises, embedded, and edge devices, which are more vulnerable when deployed outside controlled environments. The AI-assisted tools are accelerating vulnerability analysis, posing new risks for software vendors. Thales emphasizes that the additional time gained through effective protection allows organizations to identify and remediate issues without disrupting their development cycles.
