World, co-founded by Sam Altman, has launched AgentKit, a toolkit enabling AI agents to prove they are operated by verified humans. This initiative aims to address trust issues as AI agents increasingly perform tasks like shopping and making reservations. AgentKit integrates with x402, a payment protocol developed by Coinbase, allowing agents to make micropayments while ensuring their human backing is verified through the World ID system. The toolkit is designed to combat the challenge of distinguishing legitimate agents from automated bot networks. Users must have a verified World ID to utilize AgentKit, which was first introduced in March 2026. The initial demonstration involved a limited drop of 500 “Human in the Loop” hats, which were successfully claimed by verified users across multiple countries.
