On October 18, 2026, World, co-founded by Sam Altman, unveiled the World ID suite at the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas, aimed at helping banks combat deepfake fraud and AI impersonation. The suite includes three products: the World ID app for managing verified credentials, World ID for Zoom to confirm real human presence during video calls, and World ID for Agents, which allows users to delegate their credentials to AI agents. The suite is designed to enhance security in customer accounts, employee workflows, and AI interactions, addressing the rising threat of AI-driven fraud, which Deloitte estimates could result in $40 billion in losses by 2027. The World ID for Zoom feature, which verifies participants through a three-way cryptographic match, is now generally available after a beta phase. World is collaborating with design partners like Bain Capital and VanEck Funds to explore its applications in financial services. Over 18 million users currently hold a Proof of Human credential, which is essential for utilizing these tools.
