Back Kucoin DDoS Defense Pioneer Launches doxx.net with $38M Series A Led by a16z
Barrett Lyon, founder of DDoS defense firm Prolexic, has launched doxx.net and raised a $38 million Series A round led by a16z. The platform provides a network upgrade for secure access to computers, servers, and AI agents. doxx.net enables granular control over agent connections, firewall management, and internal domain configuration. It supports encrypted communication and infrastructure such as IP addresses and DNS. The platform is designed for long-running AI agents and is currently in open testing. This development aligns with the growing intersection of AI and crypto news.

Think of it first as Tailscale built for AI Agents. It places computers, servers, and Agents onto the same private network, then controls who can connect to whom and what they can access.
For example, with Tailscale, you can securely connect your MacBook and Mac mini, then restrict which devices and ports can communicate. With doxx.net, you can also independently manage the Agent running on your Mac mini—allowing it to connect only to a specific server or access a particular service, while denying access to all other machines.
Its key difference from Tailscale is that Agents aren’t just connected to the network—they can actively modify network configurations. They can onboard devices, adjust firewalls, create internal domain names, and even self-organize the network. The platform even allows users to delegate configuration control directly to Agents, letting them handle these tasks autonomously.
This design is primarily intended for long-running Agents. As Agents become permanently resident on computers and servers, deploying services and calling APIs, their permissions will inevitably grow. doxx.net aims to isolate these permissions—ensuring each Agent can interact only with the machines and services it’s authorized for, and allowing those permissions to be revoked instantly when no longer needed.
doxx.net also operates its own IP addressing, DNS, certificate system, and network infrastructure, providing encrypted communication between devices. The product is currently open for testing.
