EVANSTON, Ill. — A high school in the northern suburbs has canceled all summer classes for two days due to a ransomware attack.

Evanston Township High School announced that the attack on Sunday has disrupted district systems, internet services and computer infrastructure.

Due to the incident, Evanston Township high school will be closed Monday and Tuesday — and all summer school classes, sports camps and other campus activities are cancelled.

A message on the school's website reads, in part:

"We are working with these specialists to determine precisely what information may have been accessed or acquired and to restore normal systems operations as quickly as possible. The district is cooperating with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) as part of the ongoing investigation."

ETHS says that phone systems are unavailable, and staff may have limited access to email during this time.
