Lubbock ISD employee data exposed in Frontline Education security incident

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Lubbock ISD leadership was notified Tuesday by Frontline Education that the company experienced a data security incident on Aug. 14, 2026, that exposed district employee information.

Frontline said it discovered and remediated the incident on Aug. 15, 2026. The exposed information included employee Social Security numbers, email addresses and physical addresses, according to Frontline.

Frontline has advised that no Lubbock ISD student information was exposed in the incident. District officials said they will notify families if that changes.

Lubbock ISD said it is still working to obtain additional details the incident.

Steps Frontline is taking

According to Lubbock ISD, Frontline has outlined the following steps:

Frontline will affected individuals beginning Oct. 26, 2026, to notify them their information was impacted and provide additional information the data involved.

Frontline has notified the Texas Attorney General and law enforcement agencies of the incident.

Frontline is partnering with TransUnion to manage the incident and will offer two years of credit monitoring to individuals affected.

Frontline has established a hotline at 833-516-8792, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time, for questions related to the incident.

Frontline will continue to provide Lubbock ISD with updates regarding the incident and the steps being taken in response.

Lubbock ISD said it will continue to provide updates as necessary. The district encourages anyone exposed in a data security incident to visit the Federal Trade Commission’s Identity Theft website, which includes a list of additional actions individuals can take to protect themselves from identity theft after a data security incident.
