Back Securityweek Osavul Lands $10 Million to Spot Hostile Intent Across Cyber, Physical Domains
Hybrid risk intelligence company Osavul has raised $10 million (€8.5 million) in a Series A funding round led by 33N Ventures. Balnord, G+D Ventures, and 42CAP also participated in the round, which brings the Luxembourg-based company’s total funding to approximately €12 million. Osavul’s AI platform analyzes open and privileged data to identify hostile intent across the cyber, physical, and information domains before attacks materialize. It identifies who is targeting a customer and maps that intent against the customer’s people, facilities, and supply chains. According to the company, its assessments are evidence-traced and reviewed by analysts, and can run on-premises within sovereign infrastructure, so sensitive data does not leave customer systems. Osavul was initially developed during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It now serves government, defense, and security institutions in more than 10 countries, and is one of tech companies delivering NATO’s Information Environment Assessment Capability. Osavul will use the new funding to enhance its AI capabilities, expand into enterprises and critical infrastructure operators, and deepen its government and defense work. The company points to intensifying hybrid activity from adversarial states and their proxies, combining cyberattacks, sabotage, espionage, and information manipulation. More than 150 state-linked incidents have been recorded across Europe since 2022, it says. “Hybrid attacks are no longer a government problem alone. The companies running energy, airports, ports, transport and finance now face the same adversaries, usually without the means to see them coming,” said Dmytro Plieshakov, Osavul’s co-founder and CEO. Osavul was founded by Plieshakov and Dmytro Bilash, who previously sold their company Captain Growth to Perion.
