The parent company of high-end retail fashion brands Hobbs , Whistles and Phase Eight says it is investigating a cyber-security incident , reports BBC News.
TFG London — the U.K. arm of South African retail conglomerate The Foschini Group — said there had been an incident on October 11 that affected some of its IT systems "specifically impacting our Phase Eight, Hobbs, and Whistles brands".
"We are actively investigating and working with external cyber security specialists," the company told BBC News in a statement.
Meanwhile, high-street fashion retailer H&M is investigating a different claim that it was attacked by a notorious hacking group, named ShinyHunters.
TFG said its brands' stores are operating normally, and that it did not believe customers' payment information had been breached. However, the company said, some website capabilities may be unavailable.
BBC News says that fashion giants ranging from Adidas to Alexander McQueen have been targeted in ransom attacks where cyber-criminals seek to extort money after hacking company databases and threatening to release customer data unless they are paid.
