A ransomware group called The Gentlemen claimed responsibility for the breach on August 21, 2026. The breach potentially exposed personal and financial information of 3,824 Texas residents and 413 Massachusetts residents. CAZ Investments notified affected individuals through letters dated September 23, 2026, and reported the incident to relevant authorities shortly thereafter. The exposed data may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and financial account information. CAZ has offered 24 months of complimentary identity theft protection services to affected individuals. As of now, there is no confirmed misuse of the exposed data.
