Türkiye and Pakistan have announced the establishment of a joint factory for the production of the KAAN fighter jet, a fifth-generation aircraft developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). This collaboration aims to enhance military cooperation and technological self-reliance between the two nations. The project is part of Türkiye's strategy to modernize its air force and diversify its defense partnerships. Discussions for this initiative began during the 8th Pak-Turk Industrial Expo in January 2025, where representatives from 32 institutions participated. Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler confirmed that the agreement for Pakistan's participation was nearing finalization.
