Redpacketsecurity Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS Vulnerabilities: RCE and DoS Risks Identified
Article Content
- •CVE-2026-0322 allows RCE with root privileges for authenticated users.
- •CVE-2026-0321 enables DoS conditions through crafted network traffic.
- •Immediate remediation is advised, especially for the RCE vulnerability.
Palo Alto Networks has disclosed multiple vulnerabilities in its PAN-OS software, including CVE-2026-0322, a high-severity authenticated remote code execution (RCE) flaw, and CVE-2026-0321, a moderate denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. The RCE vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code with root privileges on affected firewalls, posing a significant risk if management interfaces are exposed to untrusted networks. The DoS vulnerability enables unauthenticated attackers to disrupt service by sending crafted network traffic, leading to firewalls entering maintenance mode. Other vulnerabilities include improper input handling and stored cross-site scripting (XSS) issues, with varying severities. Palo Alto Networks recommends immediate remediation for the RCE vulnerability, while the DoS issue has not been reported as. Affected systems include various versions of PAN-OS and the GlobalProtect app on Windows. Updates are available for all identified vulnerabilities.
