Old Israeli Population Registry Data Resurfaces on Dark Web as New Breach A seller on a leak forum claims to offer Israel's 2026 national population registry, featuring 9.2 million records. Investigations reveal the data is authentic but dates back to 2005, originating from a previous breach. The database includes national ID numbers, addresses, and family links, posing risks for identity theft and social engineering. The vendor, known as 'Gordon Freeman,' falsely advertised the data as current. Technical analysis confirmed the records stopped updating in 2005, indicating a resurfacing of the 'Agron 2006' database. Despite being old, the permanent identifiers in the records remain valuable for malicious actors. The incident highlights ongoing vulnerabilities in data security and the potential for misuse of personal information. 2 sources 49
